HIGHER CELL RENEWAL RATE
---> Our skin is on a constant cycle of producing new cells and discarding dead ones, but did you know that the cycle is more active at night? Skin, like any other organ, is subject to circadian rhythms (a 24- hour cycle in the physiological processes of living beings), and its cells regenerate at almost twice the rate while you're sleeping, repairing the damage to your skin.

INCREASE IN SKIN TEMPERATURE
---> That you know sleepy feeling you get when bedtime is near? This happens when a drop in body temperature at night triggers the subjective sense that it's time to sleep. As this happen, the body sends blood away from the central core to the outward areas such as the hands and face, causing the skin temperature to rise. This in turn increases skin's own metabolic processes.

INCREASE IN SKIN'S ABSORPTION RATE
---> Trans- epidermal water loss (the amount of water moving from inside the body through skin's epidermal layer out to the atmosphere) is highest in the evening and night, causing skin to become dry and thirsty. This allows your skin to soak up moisturising products better to keep it thoroughly hydrated throughout the night.
