I'm not going to lie, I love Barry M. When it was first released in the UK, it was the only brand offering neon-brights and great colour payoff with amazing pigmentation... And if that wasn't good enough, they went and made the price reasonable and it's stayed that way since! To top it all off, they're animal friendly which is a definite must in my books.
This will be the first of many Barry M reviews, as I own a lot of products from the range, but I thought I'd start with their nail polish. More specifically the pastel look. One different colour on each nail. I've been wearing this look for a few weeks now, and I get stopped everywhere to say how great it looks and what brand of nail polish have I used. Everyone seems a little shocked when I say Barry M! I've asked a lot of girls why they find that surprising and they say it's because they'd thought it be Essie, Nails Inc or even China Glaze- Your more high-end polishes.
Anyway, on to the lovely polish! As you can see by my picture, the colours are intense. Even better? They're all applied with just one single coat apart from the yellow, which takes two but I can forgive that because it's a very bight yellow! Having recently purchased Models Own Snow White polish, I've been using that as a base to bring the colours out more, but I thought to really show the colour, I'd apply them on their own. No base coat and no top coat.
The formula for each of these is perfect, each one is creamy and goes on effortlessly. The only exception being the blue that needs a really good shake or it goes quite goopy and can sometimes need a few coats to fix the texture out.
They last a good four or five days depending on what you're doing, with a good top coat they can last up to seven days and even longer sometimes. (I've had the blue one on in the past for eight days whilst I've been on holiday! Quite the feat!)
Final Verdict: I can't fault the above five polishes at all. They apply easily, they stay put, they look gorgeous and I get compliments! These nail polishes are currently on offer at Superdrugs at 2 for £4.99, (with the exception of the crackle effect polishes,) or 1 for £2.99. At Boots they're on offer for £2.99 with no special offer, but the rest of the Barry M range is on 3 for 2.
I will be doing a review on the crackle polish, along with reviews on the lipsticks and lip glosses, as well as the Dazzle Dust. :)
