in an interview with WWD magazine, the director or something of the company told them in what I am sure was a very interesting read, "We are committed to maintaining a healthy portfolio of stores, which requires us to make the difficult decision to close some stores that no longer meet our performance requirements, as well as to open new stores where we see opportunities," Terry J. Lundgren, chairman, president and ceo of Macy's,
er, this is the brand that closed 11 in 2008 and 9 in 2009. now 5 in 2010. call me crazy. but, does that not stink of recession to you? i have to say - if i worked in Montana's store which is closing so they could open one in california. i would not be impressed. I would want a hell of pay severance package, some free shit and one of bradangelina's children to auction on ebay. i would not be happy.
living in Ireland I can only assume what MACY'S actually sells. (not bradangelinas children - we legally had to state that) but, imagine children, if you will. that BTs decides to close up it's store in Cork (which would be awful as that is the only indoor AIB banklink) to open another store in say, Blanchardstown. the good people of Cork would have a press intervention, protesting, throwing things! there would be war in the shoe department ! looting! free lipgloss in MAC! but most of all. there would be no pay severage worth millions, some free shit or bradangelinas children.(seriously i don't know how this joke started but it has to stop!) instead, you could prob work for the giant topshop or SHUDDER - TKMAX.
although we have no idea if MACYS would actually give anything to anyone or for the record that BT is closing. because it isnt. we made that up. and it sounds a lot better then the read in WWD did, of that i'm sure.
